The Texas Sentinels Foundation program is dedicated to providing not only new homes, but a new life to the men and women who have selflessly given on behalf of their country. As a country and as united communities it is our responsibility to honor these American Heroes by providing for them once they return from war.

Please take a minute to see just a few of the True American Heroes that the Texas Sentinels Foundation is already helping to realize thier families dreams and goals.


True American Heroes



Jorge De Leon
In 2004, Army Sergeant Jorge De Leon lost his leg and suffered loss of hearing and Traumatic Brain Injury in Afghanistan. While maneuvering his Humvee to avoid an insurgent attack, he drove over an anti-tank mine. Today he walks with the use of a computer controlled prosthetic leg. He lives with his family in San Antonio where he also helps identify other wounded veterans who need financial and emotional assistance.


Jorge's Support Team
Jorge’s support team is lead by Patsy Oakley, RE/MAX Preferred, REALTORS and has been working to make Jorge’s new home a reality. The team has utilized business relationships to raise money and awareness in San Antonio of the Texas Sentinels Foundation’s mission.




Johnny Wilson
In February of 2005, while on patrol Johnny and his platoon were attacked and hit with an IED in Taji, Iraq. Due to the attack, Johnny lost his left leg below the knee and also suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. Johnny was retired from the Army in April of 2006 and his family lives in Mansfield, Texas, where he attends college full time and takes care of his three children and wife who suffered a severe brain stem stroke in May 2009. The Wilson family was surprised by the announcement that they will be receiving a custom-made mortgage free home and a life scholarship from the Texas Sentinels Foundation on December 17th.


Johnny's Support Team
RE/MAX Masters Team headed by Kristina Hayes, RE/MAX Masters, jumped into the program securing the builder, Mike McKellop of Sierra Custom Homes and is working on various Texas Sentinels fundraisers to take place throughout 2010.




Justin Rokohl
At just 23 years old, Marine Lance Corporal Justin Rokohl has seen and experienced more than most will in a lifetime. In June of 2008, during his second tour of duty overseas, Justin sustained massive injuries after an attack and explosion that launched him 90 feet in the air. He suffered a broken back, broken hip, fractured tibia and fibulas, two broken femurs, and damage to both legs that could not be repaired or corrected. Today Justin is able to walk with the use of prosthetics. He works a fulltime job in the oil industry, drives a specially modified vehicle and even takes part in cowboy team roping. He is also the recipient of 11 different medals and ribbons from the United States military, including the Purple Heart.


Justin's Support Team
The Victoria team headed by Sarah Korczynski & Veronica McCants, RE/MAX Land & Homes, found their Sentinel before approaching Texas Sentinels Foundation for help and the ladies haven’t stopped going. They have secured Blanton Builders of Victoria to build Justin’s home.




Army Sergeant Justin Feagin
Army Sergeant Justin Feagin, a five year veteran was presented as a Texas Sentinel Foundation Honoree at the 2011 RE/MAX of Texas Statewide Convention in Austin. A member of the highly decorated Rakkasans (13th Brigade if the 101st), Feagin, a native of Dallas, was initially deployed to Iraq for 15 months. Afterward, he was deployed to Afghanistan as a newly pinned Sergeant, and was wounded in 2010 while serving as the head of an Afghan Border Police unit when he was hit with by an IED that cost him his left foot, a ruptured ear drum, several broken bones and numerous deep shrapnel lacerations, including one to his femoral artery.

Chris Sanford
While on patrol in Iraq in 2008, Chris Sanford suffered severe injuries after an IED discharged near his platoon. In addition to his physical injuries, Chris also suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). His recovery is as inspiring as it is miraculous. Today Chris aspires to become a nurse in order to help other men and women who suffer from these types of injuries. His wife Christine, a science teacher at Knox Jr. High in The Woodlands, has begun preparing him for his courses.
